Hi, my name is Bradley Petersen. I thought of creating Pay It Forward Realty as a substitute teacher at a middle school. Due to budget cuts, the school decided to end their sports programs for the entire middle school. I learned that the sports programs ended because of a roughly $10,000 shortfall. I thought to myself, “only $10,000? I could raise that pretty easily through real estate.” I realized this idea had the power to fund an entire middle schools’ sports program. Had I known their problem earlier than I would have been able to raise that money. I’ve since been able to donate $2,000 to Canyon Girls’ Basketball team in Anaheim Hills, $2,000 to Canyon HS Golf team, $1,000 to a group of motivated students at Canyon HS who raised enough money to build a school in Africa in the summer of 2011. I was also able to donate $1,000 to Second Chance Rescue, owned by one caring soul trying to help find a home for dogs before they are put to sleep at the shelter. Other big donations have gone to The Open School in Orange County, and a friend Larry Fowler. Larry is a Marine and a father who needed a heart transplant. I am grateful to be in a position that I could help them. I’ve done several smaller donations to the Wounded Warrior Project and the Combined Federal Campaign. I have a soft spot for wounded Soldiers. I currently have served over 10 years as a Staff Sergeant in the Army Reserves and was recently deployed to Afghanistan for most of 2012 and 2014.
My Real Estate Experience
I’ve been involved in real estate since 1999. I’ve worked in escrow, property management, construction, investing, hard money lending and real estate brokering. I currently broker for a property management company that manages over $100 hundred million in property values. I help homeowners through the short sale process from beginning to end to include: price negotiations with the bank, BPO Agents and appraisers, write contracts, provide all required disclosures and show and market the property. I’ve helped some home owners delay foreclosures through the short sale process so they can stay in their homes for as long as one extra year. I also personally buy real estate, fix it and sell it. I work closely with my partner, a general contractor, and help with the construction as well. I’ve built brand new construction homes from the ground up, finding the land, working with the city for the permits and working with contractors to complete the homes.
